Looks real nice. Yellow isn't my favorite color for a car, but still looks very nice.
I know there's exceptions for every rule, so were any Eliminators made without the walking cat gas cap door? I thought supposedly they all came with the cat. It looks so much better with the cat IMO.

I love how the underside of the car is so clean. Looks brand new to me.
What is that thing that's zip tied onto the thick metal bar near the oil pan?

1970 Eliminator had the walking cat logo, but 69 didnot.

That car is beautiful. The pictures are very well done. But I can't help but wonder how much of the text is BS when I get a couple sentances into the description and read that it was a "frame off" restoration. It's a unibody car, c'mon. I got to that point and stopped reading.

It looks like someone zip tied a piece of rubber hose onto the sway bar to keep the transmission cooling lines (?) from rubbing.

Nice car but for that kind of money, I'd expect the taillights to not be pitted and the underhood finishes to be a little more accurate.

Totally agree Jeff, if it is worth doing, it is worth over doing.

For 75K..... I would also expect the door panels to be perfect as well as the sunvisors and console pad......

If you will remember, this is the same seller as the 428 CJ Elliminator that 4 speed that was for sale about 18 months ago. It absolutely blows my mind that for about 700 worth of decals, stickers, paint dabs and a factory correct battery, running cat fuel door, etc., the car may look every bit the part of a 75K car.

I used to think hood lock pins looked super cool. I bet a lot of you here still do. It sort of says "this car is fast". It sets it apart from similar cars without the pins. It signifies high performance. I've changed. Now I think they look tacky. Not just the pins, but the wires are what look so stupid. I think I may have to post that in the "cheesy car glitz" thread. I'd think they slow a car down too. Not very aerodynamic.
The thing that makes it really stupid, or not practical, is that the pins sticking up would poke your belly when you have to work on the car and lean across and reach for something.
What's the idea of those anyway? Is is supposedly easier/quicker access?

I believe the purpose is to keep the hood closed if the latch fails.

Have you ever had a hood fly open at 65 miles per hour.

    I prefer the '70 Mach 1 style.

Thanks for the answer. Sounds good to me. Hadn't thought of that. In 14 years of owning my 70, the latch never failed 1980-1993. Was that a problem with Cougars? Usually TWO things have to fail for a hood to fly open and then maybe the aerodynamics should keep it down on a level road, right?
We put men on the moon in 1969, but couldn't make a safe hood?

I had a 72 Toyota Carolla that had a problem with the hood latch failing. Around 1979, I was driving it down a narrow winding mountain road when it flew open. Just me and two girls that I went to the beach in Santa Cruz with were in the car. Couldn't have happened at a worse time. Pretty embarrassing*, and dangerous. I tied it with a rope that kept it from flying up more than about an inch. Later I fixed it properly.

*it was embarrassing to be driving a 72 Toyota and the hood thing just made it worse. Toyota's were junk back then. Not like now.

Wow guys...and because of comments that have posted in this thread I don't post any pics of mine. I corresponded with the seller many times when he previously listed this car, he shared pics of the restoration with me and I can tell you that he had a VERY thorough restoration, almost to the point of over-restoration.

My car has been appraised for more than his BIN price and is far from stock or even remotely concours which tells me if you're tearing his apart, you'd really lay into mine. I love you guys to death, but when you get so nit picky about the tiniest of details, it really makes me not want to share my pride and joy with everyone here.
