Nice car, if I was going to buy it, I'd make a list just like when you buy a house. Things need to be replaced to make it original or lower the price for each part that isn't original or doesn't add to the value of the car...simple as that. I wouldn't change a thing on the car though. Its very nice even if there are some differences. Its a nice car. Its a nice car....be nice.

Hood pins: I was under the impression that all 428 cars got hood pins in 69 and 70....or perhaps at least on Eliminators.....as it seems like they are the cars that always have them..... BUT I am not an expert....have only owned cars with the pins...and the CJ's.

As for the "restored as close as possible" statement...that is a stupid statement as it leaves MILES of discrepancy possible. As close as possible to what? "We couldn't get Grabber Yellow paint at the shop down the street, but we found some yellow tinted white paint instead. It's close.." "We weren't able to find a 428CJ snorkle, so we used a 390 version.....it was as close as I could find..."

It truly is a buyer beware arena to play in. For some, they have invested much time and little money to learn over the years. Others will invest lots of money only to learn over a little time....what was wrong with a purchase...!

Trick is to find a solid restoration and be able to recognize obvious shortcomings, judge how much it would cost to correct these issues, and invest as little as possible to correct the car and return it to a value that is higher (hopefully much!) than what you paid initially.

Some guys just don't get the little details..... others forget them over time...... some get hung up on things that should never be an issue......

While a nice appearing car at the quick glance, obviously people have noticed quite a few things wrong with the car! As Don pointed out in another thread, many buyers jack the price WAY up, hoping to only get an offer of perhaps half of the asking amount.... If they get a sucker to lay down for the full asking price? Well, super bueno!!! "We're eatin' steak tonight honey!!!"

Just don't pee all over me for painting my triple black 70 sublime green. It's my car.....but it is still for sale if you want to save it! I'll never call it restored......I'll call it improved!!!
